Scarban is recommended by professionals

Scar care professionals recommend Scarban silicone sheets most often. The reasons for this include:

  • The sheet stays in place when you move, even in skin folds
  • The sheet feels soft and pleasant to the touch, thanks to the unique, stretch-fabric, outer layer

  • The sheets consist of 100% medical silicone, with UV protection

What is Scarban?

Scarban medical silicone sheets are self-adhesive, washable and can be used for a long period. A special cleaning gel, Scarban silicone cleaning soap, is included with the silicone sheet. Regular washing will ensure that the silicone sheet retains its qualities, including optimum adhesion.

The sheet consists of 100% medical silicone, with a stretchable layer and a protective layer. It is available in 2 versions, Light and Elastic. The Light version is thinner and more flexible than the Elastic version. This makes the Light version ideal for mobile areas such as over joints.

Scarban silicones:

  • Reduce moisture loss through the scarred skin
  • Reduce symptoms (itching, redness, skin tension)
  • Make scars less visible
  • Are scientifically proven

How does Scarban work?

A scar loses many times more moisture than the normal surrounding skin. The body responds to this by sending stimulating healing factors to the scar tissue, causing more connective tissue to be produced and hypertrophic or keloid scars to develop.

By covering the scar with Scarban, moisture loss is normalised to almost the same level as the surrounding skin. In response, the body stops supplying stimulating healing factors and the scar will become smoother, flatter, less red and calm more quickly. Any itching or irritation of the scar is also soothed or even removed.

Instructions for use

  • Start using Scarban immediately after the wound has closed
  • Clean and dry the skin thoroughly before applying the silicone sheet
  • Ensure the sheet covers 2 cm around the scar, cut to size if necessary
  • For best results, it is recommended to wear the silicone sheet for a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 23 hours per day
  • Clean the silicone sheet daily using the supplied soap, this helps maintain the sheet’s condition and adhesive strength

Scarban is a medical device. Please consult the instructions for use before applying.
