Description
Pre-shaped silicone sheet for c-section scar care
Scarban C-Section has been specially developed for the aftercare of scars following a c-section. The silicone sheet covers the vulnerable scar tissue, helping to reduce moisture loss. This contributes to the advantages of treatment with Scarban C-Section:
- Reduce itching
- Fade redness
- Relieve tightness in the scar
- Prevent further moisture loss
- Make the scar less visible
Instructions for use
- Start using Scarban immediately after the wound has closed
- Clean and dry the skin thoroughly before applying the silicone sheet
- Ensure the sheet covers 2 cm around the scar, cut to size if necessary
- For best results, it is recommended to wear the silicone sheet for a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 23 hours per day
- Clean the silicone sheet daily using the supplied soap, this helps maintain the sheet’s condition and adhesive strength
Scarban C-Section is a medical device. Please consult the instructions for use before applying.
Usage duration
When used as directed, one pack of Scarban C-Section is sufficient for 6 to 8 weeks of treatment.
Treatment duration
Scar treatment takes approximately 3 to 6 months, or longer if necessary. You can continue treating the scar for as long as it remains active or causes symptoms.
UV protection
Scarban C-Section provides high UV protection. It has an Ultraviolet Protection factor (UPF) of 50. This is important for scar treatment. UV rays are harmful for healthy unprotected skin, causing skin cancer, sunburn and more.
UV rays have additional harmful effects on scars. As scars are different from normal healthy skin, UV rays can penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing harmful effects. Also, exposing your healing scar to the sun can cause permanent discolouration. So it is recommended to not expose your scar to the sun.
Silicone therapy: the preferred scar treatment
Silicone scar therapy, such as Scarban C-Section, is the first-choice treatment for scars according to international scar treatment guidelines. It is the most commonly used approach for both prevention and treatment of scars. Moreover, it is one of the few non-invasive scar treatments with strong scientific support.
